Job Summary: The radiologic technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images on patients of all ages. They work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Position patients properly to obtain the best possible images while ensuring the patient’s comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards are met.
- Responsible for reporting technical problems and ensuring that actions are taken when tests deviate from established protocol.
- Review and evaluate images for quality and clarity, ensuring they meet diagnostic criteria.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret imaging results and assist in patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging studies, patient history, and procedural details.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Provide patient education and support, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and continuing education to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and best practices.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including patient confidentiality and compliance with regulations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and proof of Iowa permit to practice prior to performing ionizing radiation.
- Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and imaging software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently while following established protocols and procedures.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to position patients and operate imaging equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Commitment to patient care, safety, and professionalism.
- BLS for the healthcare provider certified or obtained withing 3 months of hire.
