PACE is seeking a Director of Membership Development & Engagement to help grow and strengthen our network of local businesses.
This role is designed for someone who enjoys being out in the community, meeting new people, and building meaningful relationships that lead to long-term engagement. You’ll play a key role in welcoming new businesses, sharing the value of PACE membership, and helping members find opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow.

Position Overview
The Director of Membership Development & Engagement is responsible for supporting the growth and engagement of PACE membership through outreach, relationship-building, and member-focused programming.
This individual will:
- Serve as a connector between PACE and the business community
- Build relationships that naturally lead to membership growth and retention
- Help create experiences and opportunities that bring members together
- Relationship-driven and community-minded
- Comfortable initiating conversations and building trust over time
- Organized and consistent in follow-up and communication
- Motivated by helping businesses feel connected and supported
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth & Outreach
- Connect with prospective members through in-person visits, calls, and community engagement
- Share the value of PACE membership in a way that is personalized and relevant to each business
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of relationships through consistent outreach and follow-up
- Lead a welcoming and thoughtful onboarding experience for new members
- Provide one-on-one guidance to help members understand and utilize their benefits
- Maintain regular communication with members to ensure engagement and satisfaction
- Support and help develop networking opportunities, educational sessions, and member events
- Create opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another
- Gather feedback from members to ensure programming remains relevant and valuable
- Represent PACE at ribbon cuttings, events, and community gatherings
- Build relationships with local organizations and partners
- Help connect members to one another and to opportunities within the community
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, engagement, and membership activity
- Track progress toward membership growth and retention goals
- Provide regular updates to the Executive Director and team
- Steady and consistent growth in PACE membership
- Strong relationships with both new and existing members
- High levels of member engagement and participation in PACE programming
- A welcoming, connected, and collaborative business community
- 2–5+ years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, or community engagement
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to confidently share value and invite participation
- Organized with the ability to manage outreach and follow-through
- Self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance
- Ability to attend events and meetings, including occasional early mornings or evenings
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed for events
