Job Description:
Skilled strategist, technologist, and manager of people, who leads and directs planning, programs, and activities associated with the College's technology environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                          

  • Direct and manage Information Technology Services (ITS) operations. ITS is responsible for all academic and administrative hardware and software systems, user support, classroom technology, information security, and infrastructure consisting of wired and wireless networks, telecom and CATV.
  • Hire, provide training, supervise, and evaluate ITS personnel. Coordinate staff meetings and team building activities.
  • Develop and manage departmental, project, annual, and long-term budgets.
  • Oversee purchases of all technology equipment and software systems. Establish and maintain long-range plans to ensure that software is updated, and equipment is upgraded or replaced in an orderly and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for effective operation of ITS department.  Ensure proper documentation of policies and procedures is maintained for all systems and processes. 
  • Oversee information security program, training, and practices.
  • Watch emerging trends, anticipate, and plan for changes and advancements in information technology that will support the mission of the College.
  • Coordinate and prioritize strategies and initiatives to achieve a comprehensive, integrated information technology environment. Lead the College's effort to collect, store, and share data and information across functional units, creating a global data model that enables Central to use information in a timely, strategic, efficient, and appropriate manner.
  • Work with appropriate personnel and committees to plan for and implement specific technology strategies and goals. Consult with senior staff to identify and communicate the technology implications of institutional initiatives. Provide expert advice to individuals and committees on technology issues.
  • Promote and support internal and external partnerships and collaboration to advance Central's technology environment.
  • Ensure internal web presence is properly branded, current in platform, and adheres to PCI compliance standards.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining emergency/backup plans and procedures for computing services.
  • Serve on various committees. Attend professional meetings, conferences, and seminars.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, or related field required; master's degree preferred
  • At least five years of IT and/or management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in higher education preferred
