General Maintenance Technician

Job Description:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Replace lamps, ballasts and perform minor electrical repairs.  Replace electrical cords.
  • Repair showers, faucets, drains, and miscellaneous plumbing.
  • Minor repair of floor covering baseboards.
  • Repair of exit and emergency lighting.
  • Plunge/ snake toilets & sinks.
  • Repair of furniture, casework, and fixtures.
  • Complete minor HVAC repairs.
  • Utilize Central Maintenance Management System for daily work orders.
  • Remove snow and ice as needed.
  • Assist other personnel as needed to maintain a safe, effective, and efficient work environment.

Shift hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and college closure periods.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED with the ability to do simple math functions.
  • Must have training equivalent to one to three years of applied plus 3-5 years of effective experience.
  • Valid Driver's License required. 
  • Ability to use/climb a ladder safely, as well as lift, push and pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.

Additional Information:
A post-offer background check and pre-work physical will be conducted.
