Manufacturing Engineering Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager holds broader leadership responsibility for the overall success of their focus area and, as such, is a cultural champion, executes on the strategic plan, develops talent, leads positive change, and continuously contributes to organizational improvement.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
More specifically, the employee owner will:
Lead and inspire team performance and productivity in alignment with broader division and corporate goals and strategy.
Collaborate with employees, contractors, suppliers, and others to ensure our manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental standards.
Supervise their team to assist with production by meeting requirements specific to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement in alignment with company values.
Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and audit process compliance.
Work and collaborate with the Manufacturing Managers to ensure that all the manufacturing facilities are receiving the appropriate support.
Partner with the Corporate CI, Quality Manager, and Plant specific CI Managers to develop, teach, and lead value stream improvement initiatives.
Engage with HR to ensure that PPI policies are consistently and fairly administered including evaluations and pay for performance processes.
Define and implement capacity planning strategies to proactively and profitably meet the sales growth opportunities and initiatives of the company.
Oversee both short-term and long-range operational planning and resource management through one or more levels of direct reports to optimize productivity and results that are aligned with corporate strategy and objectives.
Be responsible for all plant engineering functions including manufacturing engineering, process engineering, and industrial engineering
Lead and drive activities related to continuous improvement (e.g., cycle times, scrap, quality, material cost reduction, etc.).
Review and establish contingencies / justifications for Capital Appropriation Requests.
Develop plans for process improvement and will have specific areas of accountability in its execution.
Provide support on new product launch, providing the manufacturing input for development of new process and improvements to existing processes and tooling. 
Ensure new tools and/or processes are ready for production and ensure smooth execution in operations.
Direct all engineering functions in manufacturing Plants, assign responsibilities, and ensure compliance to expectations of performance.
Develop personnel in technical execution, planning, and decision making to positively impact business financials.
Champion, utilize, and apply TWI principals (JR, JI, and JM) within the team
Domestic travel will be required weekly and international travel may be required periodically as needed.
Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
Demonstrate regular, consistent attendance.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS 
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or 
5+ years related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
