Lead Carpenter

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead team in the Installation, service, and/or repair of customer products in a quick, efficient, and safe manner. Suggest modifications of the product or installation to meet customer requirements. Instruct customer personnel in the correct operation of the product. Lift, handle, or maintain the product or its operation. Maintain and account for materials and tools used to complete work projects. Take necessary actions to maintain a clean worksite throughout all phases of the project. Work independently or as a team member. Use specialized or standard applications in the performance of duties. Work assignments are varied and of moderate scope and complexity with limited supervision. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

GED with a formal technical program and 5 years of previous carpentry experience at a minimum, or equivalent. SKILLS: Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions as well as do simple math calculations. Possess forward-thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to communicate with customers in a friendly, presentable manner. Respectful of others' property, whether it be personal, company, or customers. Follow manufacturer's recommendations and provide a high level of craftsmanship day in and day out.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, ETC.:
Valid driver’s license.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Not applicable.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
Various lifts, various hand and power tools, machinery, and equipment, phone, calculator, fax, photocopier, and other office equipment. (The company furnishes the majority of tools, with the employee providing basic ones such as a hammer, tape measure, etc.)

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires standing, squatting, twisting, bending, turning, and kneeling for extended periods of time. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision. Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance when needed. Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Ability to climb and descend ladders and scaffolding, as well as work at elevated heights. Ability to read a tape measure accurately and quickly. WORKING CONDITIONS: Seasonal exposure to adverse weather conditions. Work up to 8-12 hours per day or as needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
No tobacco use at jobsites. No smoking in company vehicles. Offer suggestions on how to improve work practices if a better and/or smarter way is possible, as well as absorb coworker suggestions to improve your own job knowledge. (An employee should always ask for proper training before proceeding with an unfamiliar task.) Profanity and other inappropriate behaviors are not tolerated. Side jobs performed by employees outside of Element that could be performed by Element directly will be viewed as competition and will not be tolerated unless prior approval is given. Company vehicles and equipment must be kept in a neat and orderly fashion, with trash being emptied daily and equipment being returned to their correct locations daily. Unauthorized recording or photographing of, as well as handling of, customer personal property is strictly prohibited.

Job Type: Full-time, Optional 1099 position with a higher hourly wage, Pay: $24-35/hr or salary options available, Company truck, PTO, Insurance Stipend
