Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the cooperative's financial operations through cost accounting, inventory management, work order accounting, accounts payable, purchasing support, and general accounting functions. This position ensures the accurate accumulation and reporting of labor, material, and overhead costs associated with construction and maintenance activities while maintaining the integrity of inventory records and financial data. The Staff Accountant also provides exceptional customer service to members, vendors, and internal staff while supporting the cooperative's commitment to operational excellence.
Education/Experience:
• Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two to five years of accounting experience preferred.
• Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel and Word.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills.
