The City of Pella (2020 population of 10,464), located 45 miles southeast of the Des Moines metro area, is seeking a Finance Director to be part of its executive management team.
Under the general direction of the City Administrator, the Finance Director plans, organizes, and directs all financial activities of the City which has a $55 million annual operating and capital budget. This includes long-term financial forecasting, cash and debt management, rate analysis, budgeting, financial statement preparation, and supervision of the finance department.
The starting salary for this position is $115,000-140,000, depending on experience. The City offers a competitive benefits package including health, dental, life insurance, and eligibility for the IPERS retirement plan. In addition, relocation expenses will be provided for the successful candidate. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and five to ten years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
