Accounting Manager
Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing, coaching, and advising accounting team members. This position is responsible for financial reporting and tax compliance and administration. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading and directing team activities related to the financial close process and ensuring accurate and timely filling of relevant financial information. In addition, the role will be responsible for managing the tax compliance and obligations of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, general ledger, revenue and expense analysis and other activities
• Set up and/or oversee all audit and internal controls and metrics within the organization and ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
• Coordinate with outsourced tax preparation work and develop roadmap for tax planning strategy
• Prepare documentation for tax regulation authorities (U.S. and Canada)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all tax related questions for the organization
• Maintain relationships with accounting and tax firms, insurance companies, and various other external parties
• Prepare relevant documentation for external auditors and government entities
• Lead a team of direct reports to provide mentorship and guidance. Conduct 1 on 1 check-in/quarterly connections meetings: Define team members’ goals, elevate progress, and invest in their development by coaching, training, and supporting personal and professional goals/performance

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. 5-7 years of related experience preferred. CMA or CPA is highly beneficial but not required.
