What You Need to Know about New DOL Overtime Rules
On May 18, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor released their new overtime rules. This final rule is a radical change from the previous rule, increasing the salary threshold under which most employees will be automatically eligible for overtime pay. The current salary level required for the exemption is $23,660 for a full time employee, and the new threshold will be $47,475 per year.
Randy Sikkema and Jennifer Deaver of Schuring, Uitermarkt, Sims, McCleish Vermeer, P.C. will join us to explain what you need to be doing now and the potential impacts to business and its employees that this rule will have when it goes into effect on December 1, 2016.
