Jun 2 - Aug 15    Free Sack Lunches for Kids
All children and youth are welcomed to a free sack-lunch, every Monday through Friday of summer vacation, from noon to 12:30 pm, beginning Monday, June 2. The free lunches will be distributed at the gazebo at the Burbank Apartments, 408 East 13th Street in Pella. Jul 25 - Aug 3    Union Street Players presents Seussical the Musical
Enjoy performances of Seussical the Musical by great local talent! The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to a butter battling military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton’s attention to the speck of dust and his “loitering” care of Mayzie LaBird’s egg has elicited taunting and accusations from the rest of the animal kingdom, except for Gertrude McFuzz, who longs for his attention, and JoJo, whose “thinks” save them all in the end. Performance times are Friday, July 25 at 7 pm; Saturday July 26 at 7 pm; Thursday July 31 at 7 pm; Friday August 1 at 7 pm; Saturday August 2 at 7 pm; and Sunday, August 3 at 2 pm.
