Top Five for Small Business: Ways to Leverage Your Team's Strengths
This Top Five monthly series focuses on issues small businesses face daily. Each month features a topic such as human resources, marketing, accounting, IT and others. The featured speaker from each event in the series will introduce five key takeaways that will help your small business be successful.
This month, we'll cover the top five ways to leverage your team's strengths. Team development and most important, team success comes down to three things:
- Emotional Intelligence
A person's awareness of and their ability to adapt their thoughts, emotions, actions and reactions to people and situations appropriately to achieve desired results. - Social Intelligence
The awareness and appreciation of others' differences; as well the desire and commitment to understand not only what fuels others for top performance, but what creates stress in order to work together productively and achieve results. - Business Intelligence
Team members' short and long term goal setting and it's alignment with their organization's purpose, values and vision.
- Understand how relationships are developed why respect and trust gets built and broken.
- Enhance their emotional intelligence, by better understanding their SOCIAL STYLE.
- Understand the SOCIAL STYLE of their peers so they can fuel them properly for maximum productivity.
- Connect and/or reconnect to their organization's purpose, values and vision so short and long term goals are relevant and focused.
- Set long and short term goals giving them ultimate focus prioritization moving forward.
