Top Five for Small Business: Things to Know About Finding Your Sweet Spot Customer
This Top Five monthly series focuses on issues small businesses face daily. Each month features a topic such as human resources, marketing, accounting, IT and others. The featured speaker from each event in the series will introduce five key takeaways that will help your small business be successful.
This month, we'll cover the top five things to know about finding your sweet spot customer. Your Sweet Spot is where your target customers' needs fit with what's special about your product or service. So many sales and marketing personnel go after opportunities in a haphazard way. Understanding your Sweet Spot will be more effective for all parties and will bring focus in your strategy efforts. You will waste time and valuable resources on the wrong customers if you don't pursue a target perfect customer, your sweet spot. Find an agreed process and discipline to identify which customer profiles meet that sweet spot and encourage growth, as well as those customers who are off strategy.
