Sensory Processing Basics Workshop
Come learn about sensory preferences in children and how they can affect a child’s behavior, interactions and learning. Hosted by Pella Public Library and presented by Elise Spronk, OTR/L, with Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy. Sensory preferences vary greatly. Some of us like hot salsa, some of us prefer mild. One child touches everything (and everyone) within reach, and another might avoid touching anything (including things we think they should like). Some kids love amusement parks and all the rides, while others prefer to linger on the ground and prefer quieter activities. These are just a few examples. How a person’s brain processes sensory information can greatly impact interactions with the environment and others, the ability to learn, and the ability to behave appropriately. This program is free but signup is required and seating is limited. Call the library at 641-628-4268 to reserve your spot!
