Central College hosts "Vang": A Play
Iowa has embraced immigrants for several centuries, and many of them wanted to farm once they settled here. From Hmong refugees who forded rivers to Dutch settlers fleeing religious persecution, Vang (Hmong for "farm") shows the realities of people who are desperate for the freedom to pursue their livelihoods, Written by Iowa Poet Laureate Mary Swansea, who will hold a "talk back" session after the play.
