Event Description:
The Central College education department presents "Motivating and Managing Hard to Reach, Uninterested and Disruptive Students." Education consultant Brian Mendler, who lectures worldwide, will help participants discover and practice strategies, techniques and ideas designed to increase motivation and prevent discipline problems in classrooms and ignite a passion for success. The workshop's sessions include education through the eyes of a special education student and defusing power struggles; kids who do nothing; when teaching gets tough; social emotional learning; and the teacher who changed my life. This workshop will take place 8:30am-2:30pm in the Graham Conference Center on Central's campus. The event is free and open to the public thanks to a donation by the Geisler Penquite Foundation.
